NEWMARKET, ON – November 11, 2018 – This holiday season will be a bit brighter for people in York Region! York Regional Police Association (YRPA) has teamed up with 105.9 The Region to bring some festive cheer with Random Acts of Christmas. The goal of this initiative is to share gifts and financial support to families and individuals in York Region that could use some help this Christmas.
“Our uniformed and civilian members of York Regional Police Association wanted to do something special this holiday season and make a difference in the communities we serve,” said Todd Sepkowski, President, York Regional Police Association. “Random Acts of Christmas is our way of giving back to York Region, and helping to bring the magic of Christmas alive.”
“We are honoured to be working with the York Regional Police Association to assist the people in York Region who need a helping hand this holiday season. The spirit of Christmas is perfectly captured by this initiative and we are delighted to be part of it,” stated Pip Bola, President of 105.9 The Region.
Through a public nomination process, Random Acts of Christmas will identify York Region families, individuals or organizations that could use a helping hand. All entries will be accepted at 1059theregion.com contest page. The nomination period opens on Monday, November 12, 2018 at 9am and will close at 6pm on Sunday, December 9, 2018. Full contest details and information can be found online. Once the nomination period closes, a committee will review all nominations and select the families, individuals or organizations that will receive a gift appropriate to their need.
During the week of December 17th, listen live to 105.9 The Region between 7am and 6pm hear the stories of Random Acts of Christmas. Members of YRPA and 105.9 The Region will visit the homes of the selected families and individuals and surprise them with their gifts or financial support.
